Munich

Munich is the capital of Bavaria and the third-largest city in Germany. It is protected by the Bavarian lion, which has been on the city's coat of arms for over 800 years. The city was completely rebuilt after the devastation during the two world wars, and during the reconstruction, the principle of recreating buildings as similarly as possible was respected. Therefore, today's Munich is actually a replica of what once existed.

As a beer city, Munich has numerous beer gardens, with the most popular one being Hofbräuhaus. Munich is also the only city in the world where you can surf on a river, and it is believed to have the largest urban park in Europe - Englischer Garten, covering an impressive 3.7 square kilometers!
