We celebrate the third anniversary of our first commercial flight
Today, we proudly celebrate the third anniversary of our first commercial flight, which took place on the route Podgorica-Belgrade, on June 10, 2021. This is a significant moment for us, representing not only thousands of miles traveled but also what we have achieved in the period behind us.
The first commercial flight was realized only three and a half months after the company's establishment, marking the beginning of operations for the national airline Air Montenegro.
During the first year of operations, traffic was largely carried out with only one aircraft in the fleet, an Embraer 195. That year, around 110,000 passengers were transported to 5 destinations in regular traffic, with a series of charter flights being carried out.
In the following year, 2022, traffic was carried out with two E195 aircraft throughout the year, with an additional leased A320 aircraft with larger capacity for six months during the summer season, serving 11 destinations.
Two years after the first commercial flight, Air Montenegro owned two Embraer 195 aircraft with registration numbers AOA and AOB, and leased an Embraer 190 and Airbus 320. Last year, traffic was operated to 15 destinations.
This year, we maintained the same number of aircraft in the fleet, expanding and reducing our network of destinations. This summer, we are flying to 16 destinations, including three entirely new ones. The new Tivat-Izmir route was introduced on April 5, and from June 7, the company is also operating on the Tivat-Baku route. Flights on the Podgorica-Ostrava route will start from June 18.
In the past three years, we have transported more than one million one hundred fifty thousand satisfied passengers, and compared to the five destinations in the first year, we have opened 11 more destinations and expanded our fleet.
We especially highlight that our third year of operations was marked by a positive financial result of nearly 3.5 million euros in 2023, as well as membership in the most prestigious airline association IATA.
