Air Montenegro's first birthday

June 10, 2022

Podgorica - The national airline celebrates a year since its first commercial flight. On this day, last year, Air Montenegro took to the skies on a flight to Belgrade.

Tireless work, perseverance and dedication of all employees, as stated by the company, are the reasons why Air Montenegro, after only one year of existence, is the first choice of domestic and foreign travelers with over 10 different destinations.

"This is an opportunity to look back at all that has been achieved in a very short time, but also to recognize new opportunities and challenges. Although the company was founded in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic and in a very challenging period for the global market, with persistence, knowledge and innovation we succeeded to position ourselves on the European aviation map. After only one year, Air Montenegro counts twice as many destinations and organizes many charter flights throughout the year, which is a very important segment in the promotion and international affirmation of Montenegro, but also inevitably contributes to the tourist season. Every day, we are at the service of passengers, so that they can reach their destination as efficiently and comfortably as possible. We are glad they recognize this and place their trust in us repeatedly. This is what motivates us to continue to be up to the task", said Acting CEO of Air Montenegro, Dragana Frantov Nikolić

The focus of the company at the time of establishment was on the regional market and better connection with the region. With the opening of the Tivat - Banja Luka line, with traditionally good occupancy on flights to Belgrade, that goal has been achieved, and expectations are justified. Confirmation of a good business decision, as explained by the company, is proven by the fact that this season, due to great interest, Air Montenegro planes will fly three times a week to Banja Luka, instead of twice, as was the case last season.

In addition to the region, the national airline also connects Montenegro with a large number of European metropolises. Zurich, Frankfurt, Istanbul, Copenhagen, Lyon, Ljubljana, Nantes, Paris, Prague are just some of the destinations reached by the planes of the national airline. Daily flights from Tivat and the introduction of a line from Podgorica to Istanbul as one of the most important aviation hubs will, without a doubt, have a great contribution to the arrival of a larger number of tourists to Montenegro.

"Increasing the number of destinations and business development are goals to which Air Montenegro will continue to be committed in the future. Accuracy, precision, safety and efficiency will continue to be the values that all employees will be guided by", said Acting CEO of Air Montenegro, Dragana Frantov Nikolić

The company marked its first birthday with a symbolic gift for passengers who received a "map scratcher" with the desire to visit as many destinations as possible with Air Montenegro.
