The first flight of Air Montenegro on the route Bratislava - Podgorica
THE FIRST FLIGHT OF AIR MONTENEGRO FROM BRATISLAVA WELCOME IN COOPERATION WITH THE EMBASSY OF THE REPUBLIC OF SLOVAKIA, THE NATIONAL TOURIST ORGANIZATION AND TO PODGORICA
Today, on June 17, the national air carrier Air Montenegro realized the first regular flight from Bratislava to Podgorica as part of a series of flights that are planned twice a week, that is, on Thursdays and Saturdays until September 23 of the current year.
In cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Slovakia, the National Tourist Organization and the Tourist Organization of Podgorica, the passengers were welcomed by representatives of our partners and girls in Montenegrin costumes with a traditional Montenegrin welcome.
The establishment of air lines between Podgorica and Bratislava, as well as flights between Tivat and Brno, which began on Thursday, June 15, were preceded by workshops held at the end of May of the current year in Bratislava and Brno, where representatives of Air Montenegro, among other things, promoted traffic that we started in the interest of tourism and complementary Montenegrin economy and with the aim of improving partnership cooperation between our two countries.
We expect to transport about 3,500 passengers on this route on regular flights in the period from June 17 to September 23.
For the first 4 months of 2023, 434 tourists from Slovakia visited Montenegro, which is 114.85% more compared to the same period last year, and 1,097 overnight stays were achieved, which is 55.82% more compared to the comparable period last year. and we have a tendency to increase the interest of tourists and the business community from this market in using the services of Air Montenegro and staying in Montenegro.
Bearing in mind the importance of the Slovakian market for tourist traffic and the extension of the tourist season in Montenegro, we believe that it is important to establish air traffic with Montenegro, which is an outstanding air destination, especially for the Central European market.
